The Graphic Design Department of the Wisconsin Engineer Magazine is an outlet for any student to utilize and express their creative side. Designers are assigned 1-2 stories for every issue in which they get to collaborate with the writers and photographers to get an overall sense of what each story will look like. From their input, designers can use that to guide them in the graphic design process. Throughout that process, they get to have hands-on expierence with using the Adobe Creative Cloud and with topics such as color theory, readability, and placing. I joined this department because I have had previous experience in graphic design that I wanted to carry with me into my college career as graphic design is just one more skill in my toolbelt.
