In flashbacks, the family joins a cosmic cult, promising salvation on Jupiter. When the past reveals their struggles, their teenage daughter must choose between following her parents into the cult or carving her own path on Earth. Remake of Jupiter (2019). “Jupiter” is a brilliantly made film that successfully introduces us to the inner world of a teenager who must face not only the challenges of uncertainty, but also the trials of her disabled younger brother and parents; descent into madness. It is a dizzying landscape and space bordering on science fiction, even psychological horror. During the discussion after the film, I was struck by the fact that the first comment was empathy for the parents. I had to counterpoint that in the madness and horror of the world, children are tragically and inexplicably ignored. I even noticed that many adults can no longer be helped. The director insisted that they be reintegrated into a “good democratic society.” Nevertheless, his film seems to be an analysis of the defenselessness of adults in difficult situations, but it is an ode to children. S. He won the YOUNG JURY AWARD at the Sofia Film Festival for the film in the International Competition.
